Hitachi – Technology and Values

Amalgamating clinical quality and patients’ safety

Following Hitachi’s corporate ethos of contributing to society by developing superior, original technology and products, we have developed new concepts to protect patients’ health.

Maximum patient dose reduction is managed by adaptive mA technology. It automatically calculates the optimum tube current for each anatomical area and the real-time current control for the X-ray tube, ensuring that patients receive the minimum necessary dose.

Adaptive Filter technology decreases the noise in images acquired with low dose parameters.

Guide Shot technology enables the user to carry out interventional radiology procedures on the CT system. The physician can perform a biopsy, while observing real-time CT images on the monitor, in the scan room. See example of lung cancer.

  • Hitachi’s new one-click analysis software, fatPointer and riskPointer are developed to ease the analysis of diagnostic images acquired by high-end CT systems.
  • fatPointer and riskPointer technology removes the enormous workload of manually reading diagnostic images. The results is available only by one click.
  • fatPointer is a software to calculate ratio from areas of subcutaneous and visceral fat in navel regions. Total fat areas (colour coded), all ratios and waist dimensions are displayed in a special window.

  • riskPointer is a software to calculate a ratio (%LAA) of low attenuation areas to the total lung area which allows fast and objective evaluation of the pulmonary emphysema.
